The Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, with the Federal Government of Nigeria approved and trademarked as the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria with registration number NG/TM/O/2022/67881, is taking the Economists out of the four walls of the Universities and classroom teachers to a global and professional consultant. The dreams of the ICEN have finally come to stay when the Chartered Economists can now practice their profession the moment they become a Chartered Economist (through the ICEN) as those in the Accountancy profession and other government-approved professional bodies. The Economists must never be left in the dark anymore. The field of Economists, as we all know, compromises all the social sciences and is the mother of all social sciences. To put the records straight, all Chartered Economists of the ICEN can now apply for their practicing certificate to practice as ‘Chartered Economists Consultants.’
Our Main Objectives And Focus Is:
i.To practice as ‘Chartered Economists Consultants.’
ii.To formulate policies and interpret government policies in Nigeria and beyond.
iii.To produce reforms that will benefit entire societies and the government.
iv.Analyzing the government's yearly budget and giving meaningful interpretations of all the clauses alongside the accountants.
v.To look into the various tax reforms and report back to the government.
vi.To work side by side with tax officers at the various tiers of government.
vii.To venture into all economic matters concerning the ‘Chartered Economists.’
viii.To educate the public on economic matters.
ix.To proffer solutions to the various economic quagmires of the nation.
x.To promote the practice and the unification of all economic interests at the National and International levels.
xi.To reach out to students and lecturers at secondary and tertiary institutions for collaboration in economics.
xii.Payment of yearly practicing licensed renewal fee to the ICEN account as would be communicated to practicing members only.
xiii.To run educational programs based on economics or social sciences only.

The question that many people often ask is: Can Economics be Chartered? This question is similar to asking whether fields such as accounting, marketing, computer science, entrepreneurship, human resources, personnel management, engineering, and geography can be Chartered.
